PHKL's First Conduction System Pacing

Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL) has recently marked a notable milestone with Consultant Interventional Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist - Dr. Ernest Ng Wee Oon, who performed Pantai Hospitals’ first conduction-system pacing (CSP) procedure.

Did you know? Studies have shown that patients who undergo conventional pacing have up to 40% greater risk of experiencing heart failure over time from frequent ventricular pacing.

CSP is a treatment that targets left bundle branch pacing by deeper insertion of the ventricular lead into the right ventricular septum, allowing more physiological electrical conduction and contraction of the heart. Recent studies have shown reduced hospitalisations from heart failure after CSP, especially in patients with a weak heart who require a permanent pacemaker.
